As a web content writer, you are desperate to create engaging and attractive content that “hooks” the attention of the viewers from the first sentence. You do your best to produce a great article and hope that it will enjoy a great interest from viewers.
However, what to do when your best effort to create web content fails to convert readers? What if that article you wrote does not generate a lot of traffic?
Read further if you have gone through this experience.
If this situation sounds similar to you, there may be a lot of reasons why your content really fails to connect with readers. For example, you might have failed to consider the needs of the readers because you did not know enough about the problems they face. In some cases, the reason is a simple grammar mistake in the first sentence that makes the entire article look like it was written by an unprofessional writer.
Okay, while the situation with grammar mistakes might be clear here, what about those needs of customers? How does a professional web content writer bring it to business content?
The answer is very simple. Like any other writing professional, web content writer has a checklist for creating articles and other texts that ensures quality and guarantees helpful solutions to the readers. This checklist is a comprehensive plan for the creation of web content where the needs of the reader are at the very center.
Also, equally important are the factors pertaining to quality of the text: proofreading, tempo, evidence etc. Each of these areas ensures that the writing does not make you like an amateur writer with lack of experience in producing effective web content.
Professional web content writers refer to this checklist at the beginning of the writing process because it becomes a part of their working routine. How about you? Do you have a checklist like this?
If you don’t, check out this infographic created by folks from Pro Writing. Let this infographic become a checklist for you to improve the quality of your work and produce texts that “hook” the readers from the very first sentence.
“Failure to break through writer’s block” is where I get stuck like 95% of the time. I’ve found the only solution is to just start – just start writing, even if it’s really bad, and you’ll find your groove eventually. Editing exists for a reason! 😉
Hi Kyle,
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I agree with you 100% about “editing” 🙂

Reading this post definitely brings back memories when I was not that yet knowledgeable about web marketing. Skipping the editing stage is a common mistake among beginners especially if they are up against a deadline. This post is a great help for beginners and also serves a reminder for those who already has a bit of experience in creating infographic marketing.
Hi Lucas,
Glad you think so and thanks for sharing your thoughts. Completely agree with you regarding “editing”.
Merry X-mas & a happy new year! 🙂

Hi! This is a great infographic indeed. I’ve always thought that I don’t need editing until I’ve read an article of mine I’ve written a couple of months ago. While the ideas are still great, the mistakes I’ve made were horrible. I was surprised no one corrected some of them, maybe they went unnoticed, but chances are I scared many people away with badly written content. Now, I use an editor before hitting publish. She helps clean up the fluff and clear the nuance in the content, and it makes the articles read a lot better.
Hi Stefan,
We have all been there with regards to not-editing blog posts, especially at the start. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
Happy New Year 🙂

Thanks for the great tips! I’m new to online marketing, and this is really helpful! Since getting started, I’ve been bombarded by “spin writers” and such to create a TON of content quickly, but you seem to say that these search engines have become sophisticated enough to determine when your content is crap. Am I understanding that right?
Hi Shivam,
You are spot on – “STAY AWAY FROM CONTENT/ARTICLE SPINNING”. It is by far the worst thing you can do to anyone reading your content and also from a Search Engines point of view.
Take your time and create content when you can this can be weekly, fortnightly or monthly. There is no point in trying to create bulk content that is literally useless.
Here are some resources for creating quality content.
Good luck and happy new year to you.
Cheers,
Cent
