Blogging is the process of writing a blog and a blog is a regularly updated informative website or web page. It is generally owned and maintained by an individual or small group. This is usually in the form of the typewritten word, but can also include images, graphics, videos, or audio.

Blogging is very popular these days and thus it has become one of the most in-demand skills.  The main reason for its popularity is that it has become a great tool to do Search Engine Optimization.

And thus, Businesses are adopting and leveraging the power of blogging to promote their products or services.

A blog post has the potential to influence a purchase. Businesses that blog on their website are seeing more visitors. Nearly half of US businesses use blogs to market their products/services.

There are lots of blogs out there that are earning billions and millions of dollars on a monthly basis. And that is the primary reason, I have started this blog to share blogging tips to start, manage, and monetize a blog.

Like any other business, earning from a blog is not something that happens magically overnight. It takes time, effort, strategies and of course quality content.

The word “weblog” was coined on 17 December 1997 by Jorn Barger.

The short form, “blog,” was coined by Peter Merholz, who humorously broke the word weblog into the expression “we blog” in the sidebar of his blog Peterme.com in April or May 1999.

Soon afterward, Evan Williams at Pyra Labs used “blog” as both a noun and a verb and coined the term “blogger“.

Microblogging provides a spontaneous and organic mode in which many users can interact. The practice of microblogging is to post concise content on the internet. Which may include text, images, links, short videos or other media.
