What Does SEO Stand For?

In order to make money online you need traffic to your site. To increase traffic to your website or blog you need to rank on the first page of Google and other search engines like Bing & Yahoo. We will be talking about Google as it owns 66% of all search traffic and most mobile search traffic. Google releases various animals from the Google Zoo, the last one released was a Panda. The Google Panda update negatively affected at-least 11% of all content on the web. This is a huge number if you think about it. Before we look at what SEO stands for let’s look at what is a Keyword?
What is a Keyword?
Keywords are phrases that are searched most often in search engines like Google. A keyword research tool will help to identify alternate keywords, the competition of the keywords and what is the monetary value of the keyword. If there are 1,000’s of competing pages for a specific keyword and the top sites in the first page of Google have numerous backlinks (100’s or even 1,000’s) and a high page rank within Google then it’s best you don’t waste your time on such a keyword at this stage. Just because a keyword is searched often does not mean it has monetary value or commercial value. The users who search should ultimately spend for a keyword to be productive to the blogger or website owner.

Images are the main component of engaging content. Choose colorful images that describe what you are trying to say. If you have to explain your image then you have selected a wrong one. Don’t forget to use videos if possible.

2. Research Sites in your Niche and their Backlinks

3. Use Social Media
Use Facebook, Google+, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest and any other social media. The more likes and shares on your website and blog, the better.
SEO Boo Boo – Don’t do
Don’t do article spinning or content rewriting for article directories in order to gain backlinks. Google panda doesn’t like this and will rank you lower in search results. If you don’t know what I am talking about then do not worry at this stage. Some websites advocate rewriting your blogs in order to submit them to article directories so you can build up your own backlinks. This is a pre-Google-Panda technique!
